Yesterday was a busy day for RJo. She started off the morning at Country Auto Group for 806 Sports Radio 8th anniversary. She had a great time handing out hero cards and koozies to everyone.
At the track dad checked in RJo and he didn’t draw much better then Rylee has been. For the first heat she would start last. She quickly worked her way up to third and would pressure second into making a mistake and get by them as well. She was chasing down the leader but ran out of laps and finished second. Car was super fast and she was happy with it.
Made a small gear change before the second heat to keep up with the track conditions. RJo started on the pole and lead every lap coming away with another heat race win.
That put her starting outside front row for the main. She got an amazing start and lead the first 13 laps until they caught the back of the field and went high to pass the slower kart and lost the lead. She battled back on the last lap and ended up second by .06 seconds. It was a great race to the checkered and neither driver knew for sure who won.
We are getting everything figured out and getting ready for the Shootout in a couple weeks.
