Back to Back Silver Dollar Shootout Champion

It’s been an up and down weekend that’s for sure. This weekend was the 3rd running of the Silver Dollar Shootout at our home track Silver Dollar Speedway in Amarillo, Texas.

Friday night we ran one heat and one main for the Red, White, & Blue Dash for Cash. This being a special show and not a points race we cleared it with the track to run our normal Young Guns class and also the class we will be moving to next year Junior 1 Outlaws.

We drew really well Friday night for both classes. I’m Young Guns we started the heat on the outside pole and quickly made it to the lead and won the heat.

In Junior 1 Outlaws we drew the pole but due to a hole in the fuel line bearly made the heat and started last. RJo drove great and the kart was fast as she came home in third for the heat right on the bumper of the second place kart.

That was all the good from Friday night as in the main for Young Guns we started on the pole and while leading the race going through turn one and two lost part of the motor mount causing us to throw a chain and ending our night in both classes. We were able to find the missing part on the track and get the kart fixed and ready for Saturday morning.

Saturday was a complete different show we drew well again as she started on the pole in both classes for the first of two heat races. In Young Guns RJo jumped out to a big lead and lead every lap coming away with a heat race win. In the Junior 1 Outlaw class she started on the pole and didn’t get a great start but came home second for that heat.

In the second heat for Young Guns she started last and quickly made her way to second and started reeling in the leader. As she was going to pass a lap kart they got together causing them both to spin. She would restart at the back for a green white checkered finish but was able to drive the kart back to finish second by a bumper at the line. In the Junior 1 Outlaw she started last and was able to wheel the kart to a fourth place finish.

For the mains she started on the pole in Young Guns and lead every lap winning back to back Silver Dollar Shootout Championships. In Junior 1 Outlaws she started third and would finish fourth. We couldn’t be more proud of how she drove all weekend. She did amazing and impressed a lot of people.

We have to thank Braden, Teddy, Shawn, Austin, Kip, Dustin for the help swapping engines between each class it was a lot of work but without y’all we could not have done it. Also thanks to Charles and Steve for helping us with a couple of parts to keep going and D&D Racing for having a chain we could buy.

Along with the prize money Rylee won she also won an awesome new kart lift thanks to WR Motorsports.

Thanks again to all of our amazing friends, family, fans, and sponsors for helping us in one way or another get to do what we love doing.
