Man oh man what a day. Woke up and RJo wasn’t feeling the greatest but knew she wanted to race and secure her second track championship in three years. Dad got to the track early like always and got her checked in while she was at home resting and showing up a little later with mom. Dad drew a 69 which would have her starting last in her first heat.
Heat one we weren’t quite for sure what was gonna happen as we went to a new gear just to see. She started last and had probably one of her best heat races of the season as she made a last lap pass and came away with the heat race win.
Kart was super fast so we didn’t make any changes. She started on the pole second got a great jump on the start and RJo fell back to second where she would run the whole race. She was all over the leaders back bumper just couldn’t get around him coming home second.
That put her starting outside front row for the main. She was still not feeling well and since the championship was now locked up she almost didn’t race the main but last minute decided to give it a go. It was the right decision as she got a great start and lead the entire race coming away with her 6th win of the season tying her career best.
We have one more opportunity to go for win number 7 on the season in two weeks if dad is feeling well enough as he is going to have a complete hip replacement Tuesday so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
